Calendar

The Maemo Calendar application is a port of GPE-Calendar to the Maemo user interface look and feel. It provides a personal calendar for various purposes and a nice overview about what is going on. Recurring events are supported as well as overlapping appointments and untimed reminders. The original GPE-Calendar is developed by Joseph J. McCarthy (mccarthy@engrng.pitt.edu), Philip Blundell (philb@gnu.org), Florian Boor (florian.boor@kernelconcepts.de), Luca De Cicco (ldecicco@gmail.com) and Matthias Steinbauer (matthias@steinbauer.org) who started the port to Maemo.

It is published under the terms of the GPL.

kernel concepts folks finished the port of GPE-Calendar to the Maemo user interface after Matthias ran out of time.

Open issues and ideas for improvement:

  • The Nokia 770 doesn't ship an AT daemon, so alerts don't work so far.
  • Some minor user interface cleanups.
  • PC and cellphone syncronisation are basically supported but not ported to Maemo yet.
  • Support colours to mark categories.
