| GPE PIM Applications for OS 2006 |
2006-07-11:
The new OS 2006 software release for the Nokia 770 supports
a new and much easier to use mechanism to install software. We have a
package repository for the GPE PIM applications now which contains latest
bits from upstream development.
It is really easy to use:
Add the package repository with the "Application Manager" tool.
Use Menu->Tools->Application Catalogue and enter these settings:
- Location: http://downloads.kernelconcepts.de/maemo2
- Distribution: mistral
- Components: free
After this just update the package lists and install the applications you like.
You just need to install the applications itself
(gpe-calendar, gpe-contacts, gpe-todo) - all the depending
libraries are installed automatically.
There is a new application available for this feed as well: gpe-timesheet
is a small tool to track the time spent on a task. Like everything else in
this repository this application is still experimental.

2006-01-19:
Due to a new upstream release of GPE-Calendar we updated the Maemo package as well. Many thanks to Phil Blundell
for fixing various issues. The most important changes in the new release are:
- Removed ugly flickering in day view.
- Some minor UI (mostly optical) issues fixed.
- Some more memory leaks fixed.

2006-01-11:
Updated packages of the GPE PIM applications for the
Nokia 770 are available for download.
The new packages catch up with latest upstream development and fix a large number of errors
of the previous release. The most important ones are:
- Calendar user interface improvements and speedup.
- Basic support for location information in events.
- Support for importing multiple events and contacts from a single file.
- Fix for compatibility issues making contacts categories and notes useless with latest 770 software releases.
- Removed various memory leaks and sources of application crashes.

| GPE-Calendar for Maemo |
2005-11-29:
We just released the first Calendar application for the Nokia 770.
The port was initiated by Matthias Steinbauer
and completed by Florian Boor from kernel concepts.
With the release of version 0.66 GPE-Calendar has good support for the maemo
software stack used on the Nokia 770.
In addition to this we have updated the Contacts and Todo applications in order to fix some issues.

Since the Nokia 770 developer devices are now being shipped to registered developers
we have created an easy download & install page for our maemo applications.
There you can very easily download and install the GPE-PIM suite as well as the Plucker ebook reader
applications with almost just a single pointer click!
